At the time Palm Database Programming went to press, Release 5 of CodeWarrior was the most current version available. On the CD-ROM you'll find a copy of CodeWarrior Lite Release 5, which is an evaluation version of CodeWarrior Release 5, limited in several ways. Since the book was published, Release 6 of CodeWarrior was released, and that includes a new version of CodeWarrior Lite. If you're interested in writing programs for the Palm Computing Platform and you want to try out CodeWarrior before buying it, Release 6 is the one you want to use.

Downloading CodeWarrior Lite Release 6

CodeWarrior Lite Release 6 is available from the Metrowerks FTP site using this URL:

The file is about 20 megs in size, so be prepared to wait a while for it to download. There's also a Macintosh version of the program available from the same location.

Once you've downloaded the executable, run it to install CodeWarrior Lite Release 6.
