GoPriceIt uses Amazon.com''s web services to obtain pricing information for books from ISBN values.

You're probably wondering what's so useful about this service, since it's surely simpler to go straight to Amazon.com and type in the name of the item rather than enter a multi-digit numeric code. The web interface to the service is a convenience. This site is primarily designed to be accessed from a Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) application running on a J2ME-enabled cellphone. Entering alphabetic characters with a telephone keypad is no fun at all, but entering numbers is trivial! A perfect way to use the cellphone's limited input capabilities.

For full details on the J2ME application, see the source code page. Incidentally, the source code for this website (a servlet/JSP-based site running in Tomcat 4.1) is also included.

The creator of this site is Eric Giguère, a well-known author and software developer in the J2ME community. Eric's personal website is www.ericgiguere.com and he can be contacted at ericgiguere@ericgiguere.com.
